Few applications pressure storage devices like video editing. Filmmakers must store huge digital video files and then stream them at over 200 megabits/sec to shape raw footage into narratives. This challenge was particularly acute for acclaimed filmmaker Lawrence Carota as he made his documentary, “Crude Sacrifice,” on Canada’s Athabasca Tar Sands, the world’s largest oil-development project.
